EVOLIO Expo 2027: the B2B trade show for Italian extra virgin olive oil returns to Bari

With Italian production on the rise, evolving markets, and growing demand for quality, the olive and olive oil industry will gather at the Fiera del Levante from January 28 to 30, 2027, for the event’s third edition.

Quality and the ability to build international business relationships are now key drivers for promoting Italian extra virgin olive oil around the world. Building on this foundation, EVOLIO Expo returns from January 28 to 30, 2027, at the Fiera del Levante in Bari with the third edition of this B2B event dedicated to extra virgin olive oil and the olive-oil supply chain. Organized by Senaf on behalf of Nuova Fiera del Levante, EVOLIO Expo continues the path established in its first two editions with the goal of connecting producers, millers, Italian and international buyers, Ho.Re.Ca. operators, large-scale retailers and specialty retailers, institutions, associations, and industry professionals. This project was created to offer businesses concrete opportunities for networking and growth, but also to highlight extra virgin olive oil as a productive, cultural, nutritional, and regional asset of Made in Italy.

The new edition comes at a significant time for the sector. ISMEA estimates, based on AGEA data and reports from olive oil mills, indicate that Italian olive oil production for the 2025/26 season is projected at 325,000 metric tons, up 31% from the previous season.

This is a positive sign for a sector that continues to grapple with the dynamics of international markets and the need to strengthen the positioning of Italian extra virgin olive oil in key destination countries.

In this context, the challenge for Italian companies is not only ensuring product availability but also defending and communicating the value of extra virgin olive oil, strengthening commercial channels, and attracting qualified buyers. EVOLIO Expo fits perfectly into this trajectory, serving as a hub for the supply chain and a platform connecting supply and demand.

What will the next edition focus on? The program will once again center on the three overarching themes that characterize EVOLIO Expo and define its identity: “Oil is Health,” with in-depth explorations of the role of extra virgin olive oil (EVO) in the Mediterranean diet and its nutritional and nutraceutical properties; “Oil is Tourism,” focused on the potential of olive oil tourism as a driver of regional development and a tool for promoting olive-growing areas; and “Oil is Innovation,” dedicated to new technologies, advanced production models, and solutions to make the olive-growing and olive oil supply chain more competitive and sustainable.

Over the course of the three days, the program will feature B2B meetings, talks, conferences, guided tastings, masterclasses, tasting courses, cooking demonstrations, and in-depth discussions with experts, producers, buyers, chefs, doctors, researchers, and institutional representatives. This program is designed to offer a comprehensive view of extra virgin olive oil: not only as a high-quality agricultural product, but also as a central ingredient of the Mediterranean diet, a defining element of local identities, a driver of experiential tourism, and a competitive asset for businesses.

The results of the last edition confirm the event’s growth: 6,720 visitors, 150 exhibiting companies, 20 associations, organizations, and institutions, over 100 events including conferences, talks, tastings, masterclasses, and other activities, and 50 international buyers from 16 key countriesa 127% increase compared to 2025—who held over 700 meetings with the participating companies.

“The results of the second edition give us an important responsibility: to ensure the continuity of a project that has proven to be useful to businesses and recognized by industry professionals,” says Gaetano Frulli, President of Nuova Fiera del Levante. “EVOLIO Expo was founded in Puglia, but it speaks to the entire national extra virgin olive oil supply chain. We want to strengthen the role of the Fiera del Levante as a place where producers, buyers, institutions, and local communities can meet, build relationships, and work together to promote one of our country’s most iconic products.”“EVOLIO Expo is now in its third edition with an increasingly clear mission: to support companies in the olive and olive oil supply chain at a time when quality, innovation, and the ability to compete in international markets make all the difference,” says Ivo A. Nardella, President of the Tecniche Nuove Group and Senaf “Following a second edition that saw growth in the number of buyers, qualified industry professionals, and B2B meetings, we want to strengthen a format that goes beyond simply being an exhibition and offers concrete business tools: business matching, networking, training, and technical content.” The three themes—“Oil is Health,” “Oil is Tourism,” and “Oil is Innovation”—outline the areas where Italian EVO can continue to generate value, combining business competitiveness, product culture, well-being, and the promotion of local regions. EVOLIO Expo aims to help transform this wealth into real growth opportunities for the sector and for Italy’s positioning in key markets.”
